E-vignette. Simplicity comes first.
E-vignette types and validity
Tolls for using motorways and expressways can be paid for four different time periods, during which you can freely use all toll roads. After your e-vignette expires, you need to buy a new e-vignette for the correct toll class to continue driving on the motorways or expressways.

Annual
e-vignette
Annual e-vignette is valid from the validity start date selected by the buyer until the end of the same day in the following year. For example: if you purchase an annual e-vignette and select 15 April 2022 as a start date of its validity, you may use the motorways and expressways with this e-vignette up to and including 15 April 2023, i.e. until 12 midnight on that day. The only exception to the annual e-vignette occurs in a leap year, if 29 February, which is not included in the calendar of the following year, is selected as the start date by the customer – in such a case, the annual e-vignette validity expires on 28 February in the following year. Semi-annual
e-vignette
Semi-annual e-vignette is valid from the start date selected by the user until the end of the same day after six months, or until the last day of that month if there is no such day in the sixth month. For example: if you select 15 April 2022 as the validity start date for the semi-annual e-vignette, you may use the motorways and expressways with this e-vignette up to and including 15 October 2022, i.e. until 12 midnight on that day. And if you select 31 May 2022 as the validity start date, the validity of the semi-annual e-vignette expires on 30 November. The semi-annual e-vignette is only available for the first toll class, i.e. for single-track motor vehicles (motorcycles). BUY NOW

Monthly
e-vignette

For example: if you select 15 April 2022 as the validity start date for the monthly e-vignette, you may use the motorways and expressways with this e-vignette up to and including 15 May 2022, i.e. until 12 midnight on that day. And if you select 31 May 2022 as the validity start date, the validity of a monthly e-vignette expires on 30 June. BUY NOW

Weekly
e-vignette
Weekly e-vignette is valid for seven consecutive days from its validity start date selected by the customer. The first day of the weekly e-vignette validity always counts (this means that a weekly e-vignette is valid on the start date of its validity and on the following six days). For example: if you purchase a weekly e-vignette and select Friday, 15 April 2022 as its validity start date, you can use the motorways and expressways with this e-vignette until midnight on Thursday, 21 April 2022. BUY NOW
All types of e-vignette can be purchased with a delayed start of their validity. This means that you can select the first day of validity up to 30 days (including the date of purchase) from the date of purchase when buying an e-vignette.
Where is an e-vignette mandatory?
A valid e-vignette for the correct toll class is mandatory for all motor vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of up to 3500 kg when entering a toll road. This means that you need to buy an e-vignette and select the start date of its validity before you enter the motorway or expressway.
Toll roads where an e-vignette is mandatory
An e-vignette is required for driving on all motorways and expressways operated by DARS, with the exception of certain sections:
- The Gorenjska motorway (A2) – from the direction of Austria to the Hrušica junction in the direction towards Slovenia, and from the Hrušica junction to the border in the direction of Austria. The toll for this section is paid together with the toll for the Karavanke tunnel and covers the section between the first motorway junctions on both sides of the border (the Hrušica junction in Slovenia; the Podrožca - Rosenbach junction in Austria).
- The Koper expressway (H6) – from the Koper (Semedela) junction to the end of the H6 Koper-Lucija expressway (in both directions). Because the coastal road connecting Koper and Izola has been closed, an e-vignette is not required to use this road section (through the Markovec tunnel).
- Maribor expressway (H2) – between Pesnica and Tezno. Due to road recategorisation into the regional road category, it is excluded from the e-vignette toll collection system.
